The future of education: between technology, responsibility and creativity
From 13–17 April, the International Week taking place at Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution has brought together a large number of international guests from more than 20 countries. Representatives of various higher education institutions are sharing their academic and professional experience with the community. One of them is Prof. Dr Yan Kapranov, who has arrived from VIZJA University, Poland.
At the Faculty of Arts and Education, the guest delivered a lecture to first-year students of the Pre-school and Pre-primary Education study programme. The lecture, titled ‘Digital European Studies in Higher Education: Opportunities for the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning‘, invited students to explore contemporary directions in education, where digital technologies and artificial intelligence play an increasingly significant role.
During the lecture, Prof. Dr Kapranov introduced the concept of Digital European Studies and discussed how AI-based solutions can enrich the study process – from teaching and learning to research activities. Students also had the opportunity to learn about international projects implemented at VIZJA University (ESPERIDTA, ROAD2EU, VISUAL-EU), demonstrating how innovative digital solutions are integrated into higher education practice.
Considerable attention was also given to challenges. The discussion addressed the importance of responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence in education, emphasising the role of critical thinking and pedagogical responsibility.
Such international visits provide students with the opportunity to engage with the latest educational trends, broaden their academic horizons, and gain valuable insights into the future of education in Europe. The International Week at Kauno kolegija continues to strengthen cooperation with international partners and fosters an open, innovative study environment.
