International project ‘The Gelato Theory’ at the arts academy: art to experience and taste
The Čiurlionies Gallery at the Kauno kolegija Arts Academy is proud to present ‘The Gelato Theory’, an exceptional interactive project by the internationally acclaimed cinematographer and visual artist Guy Livneh. Previously exhibited in Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, and Budapest, the project has been included in the official programme of the 2026 International Photography and Media Art (IPMA) Festival.
‘The Gelato Theory’ is not a traditional exhibition, but rather a live, multi-sensory experience. Moving beyond passive observation, visitors become part of the artwork itself, interacting with glass paintings, light and video installations, music, and movement.
A special highlight: a bespoke gelato flavour for Kauno kolegija
The exhibition offers a sensory journey that extends to the palate. In collaboration with ‘Gelato Archie’, a unique gelato flavour and colour have been crafted specifically for the Kauno kolegija community. This exclusive treat is a complimentary gift from the institution to all guests of the event.

- Academic Year Culmination: 1 September – Presentation and tasting of the bespoke Kauno kolegija gelato flavour.

About the artist
Guy Livneh is a distinguished cinematographer and director, recipient of the ‘Golden Lens’ award for Best Photography. His extensive portfolio includes the opening sequence of the Academy Award-winning film Monster (dir. Patty Jenkins), documentary projects for BBC’s Panorama, MTV’s Rockumentaries and Stylissimo, as well as numerous feature films.
