About us

Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution is a multi-profile state higher education institution that trains specialists in technology, informatics, engineering, medicine, humanities, social sciences, art, education, business and public management, law, and agricultural sciences. Over 4,500 to 5,000 students, both from Lithuania and abroad, are enrolled across the academic departments in Kaunas, Alytus, and Tauragė.

Established in 2000, the institution bases its work on both the achievements of the modern world and a rich tradition of education. The history of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution dates back to the schools of the interwar period and post-war technical schools, alongside notable figures associated with them.

In achieving their goals, members of the academic community – students and staff – are guided by the vision, mission and values defined in the Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution Strategy for 2021–2025.

Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution is a member of the UN Global Compact network. The network, established at the initiative of the United Nations, connects organisations from all over the world that are committed to social responsibility.

One of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution’s key goals is to develop international activities, with a particular focus on creating an environment that supports international study and developing the skills of both students and academic staff needed to thrive in a multicultural environment. A significant step in this direction is its membership in UNINOVIS – Data for L.I.F.E., a European University Alliance that brings together eight leading higher education institutions across Europe.

The institution is committed to balancing theoretical knowledge with practical skills, and graduates are awarded a professional bachelor’s degree. The study programmes are designed to ensure that students gain a strong foundation in theory while maximising the development of practical skills. Practical training constitutes at least one third of the total programme content.

In addition to academic studies, Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution is also engaged in applied scientific and art activities, with outcomes that help address issues relevant to the region and the country.

At Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, the ongoing enhancement of study quality focuses on developing socially responsible, creative, and self-confident professionals who aspire to excellence in their fields.
