Strengthening international cooperation: a visit to ‘USN partner days 2026’
From 1 to 3 June 2026, Rita Kmitė, International Relations Coordinator for the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Technologies, and Živilė Juknevičienė, the Faculty’s Project Development Manager, attended the international event ‘USN Partner Days 2026 – Moving Minds: Student Mobility and Projects in the New Erasmus Era’ in Drammen, Norway.
Organised by the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), the event brought together higher education representatives from various countries to discuss the expansion of international cooperation, the promotion of student mobility, and new opportunities within the Erasmus programme. Held at the university’s modern campus in the heart of Drammen, the event’s excellent infrastructure and welcoming atmosphere provided an ideal setting for both formal sessions and informal networking.
The primary focus was on two key pillars of internationalisation: student exchange and the development of international projects. Discussions on student mobility explored innovative ways to encourage young people to participate in international study programmes, increase outbound student numbers, and maximise the benefits of international experience for both students and their home institutions.
Equal attention was given to the theme of international projects. Participants shared their expertise in preparing and implementing successful initiatives, discussed the principles of effective collaboration, and explored new partnership opportunities aimed at creating long-term international impact.
Throughout the event, the Kauno kolegija’s representatives were actively involved in discussions, where they presented the Faculty’s experience, established new professional contacts, and strengthened ties with existing partners. Such meetings are invaluable not only for exchanging best practices but also for opening up new perspectives for joint projects and study exchange initiatives in the future.
Participation in ‘USN Partner Days 2026’ provided the attendees with valuable insights and practical ideas. These will contribute to the Faculty’s ongoing internationalisation, the expansion of its global partner network, and the creation of new opportunities for both students and the wider academic community.
