Lecturers from Istanbul Atlas University shared rehabilitation expertise at Kauno kolegija

On May 18–22, the Department of Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Medicine at Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution welcomed lecturers from Istanbul Atlas University under the Erasmus+ teaching mobility programme. The guests were welcomed and hosted by the Head of the Department of Rehabilitation, Milda Gintilienė, and Dr Vaida Borkertienė.

Students and academic staff had the opportunity to attend lectures delivered by Assistant Professor Mahmut Berat Akdağ, whose presentations focused on neuroplasticity and its importance in rehabilitation practice. The lectures highlighted the nervous system’s ability to adapt and recover, as well as current approaches used in rehabilitation sciences.

The department also hosted Onur Turan, whose specialty is orthopaedic rehabilitation. During the visit, topics related to lower extremity injuries, patellofemoral pain syndrome, and the application of blood flow restriction exercises in rehabilitation were discussed.

The visit strengthened international cooperation, encouraged academic exchange, and provided valuable opportunities for students and lecturers to expand their professional knowledge and competencies.
