Opportunity for Business Faculty students to participate in a BIP on event tourism in Finland
1st and 2nd year students of the Faculty of Business at Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution are invited to register and participate in the international intensive programme ‘Event Tourism as a Tool for Developing Local Communities’, organised by LAB University of Applied Sciences (Lappeenranta, Finland).
The programme aims to help students better understand how events can contribute to the development of local communities, particularly in rural areas. It will also explore the potential of event tourism to strengthen cooperation among local communities, businesses, higher education institutions, non-governmental organisations, and residents.
The intensive programme consists of two phases. During the first phase, students will work in national teams to analyse examples of event tourism in their own countries and prepare a case study of a selected event. The second phase will take place in Finland from 21 to 25 September 2026, where participants will work in multinational teams to design event concepts for specific tourist groups.
Through participation in the programme, students will develop research, interviewing, teamwork, and intercultural communication skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the opportunities that event tourism can create for local and regional development. Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded 3 ECTS credits.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain international experience, collaborate with students from different countries, expand professional networks, and contribute to innovative solutions that strengthen local communities through event tourism.
Registration is open until 20 June.
