Accommodation
All students are eligible to apply for a room in the dormitory, although spaces are limited and therefore cannot be guaranteed. Students who apply directly through DreamApply, please wait and register only when you know your exact arrival date.
Arrival registration
All full-time international students are required to register on the first working day after they arrive at the Unit of Student Admission (Pramonės Av. 22A, room 104).
Ordering a Lithuanian Student Card (LSP)
It is worth ordering a Lithuanian Student Identity Card (LSIC) if you are a full-time student because:
- It is an official document that confirms your student status.
- It is valid for the entire duration of your studies.
- You will be able to confidently use the systems and spaces of the higher education institution (e.g., the Library, inventory);
- You will benefit from a 50–80 per cent discount on public transport (full-time students only, including international);
- benefit from exclusive partner discounts.
Book your LSIC now here.
Public transportation card
A public transportation card can be integrated into your Lithuanian Student Card (LSIC) card. If it is not included in your LSIC, you can purchase a card valid in Kaunas called “Žiogas” or use the app. In Lithuania, students have a 50 per cent discount for public transport (you must have your LSIC to prove eligibility for this discount).
Check your migration responsibilities.
All non-EU full-time students are required to hold a valid Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) to reside in Lithuania. If you have any questions regarding migration responsibilities, please contact the Admission Coordinator via email at admission@kaunokolegija.lt.
Insurance
Health Insurance is mandatory for all full-time international students at Kauno kolegija and must be obtained by the student before arrival (Kauno kolegija does not provide the Health Insurance for the students). Health Insurance must be valid throughout the entire study period and cover emergency medical care services, as they are defined in the Law of Health Care System of the Republic of Lithuania, and expenses that could emerge due to the students’ return to the foreign country for health-related reasons (transportation, including the accompaniment of health care specialist(s)).
There are two types of Health Insurance recognised in Lithuanian Health Care Institutions:
- Private Health Insurance
- European Health Insurance Card (available for citizens of EU / EFTA countries)
All other essential details regarding your studies and life at Kauno kolegija can be found in the First-year Students Memorandum.
Enjoy your stay and studies!
