UNINOVIS blended intensive programme for language educators: a cross-border experience
Kaunas kolegija Higher Education Institution, in partnership with the UNINOVIS Alliance, invites language educators to participate in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) – an international professional development initiative that combines physical mobility with online collaboration. This unique programme offers participants not only the opportunity to update their knowledge but also to apply innovative teaching methodologies that are transforming contemporary language education.
A Programme That Creates Value
BIP is designed to strengthen language educators’ competencies across multiple areas. Participants will learn how to integrate subject content with language instruction (CLIL), organise international virtual lessons (COIL), and enhance their practice in English-medium instruction (EMI). The programme also introduces the use of artificial intelligence tools for personalised learning, assessment, and content creation. It promotes cultural competence and a global perspective in teaching, while storytelling techniques are used to increase student engagement.
The design of blended and flipped classroom structures, combined with Just-in-Time teaching methods, ensures that every lesson is not only engaging but also effective. Participants gain practical tools and strategies that can be immediately applied in their daily teaching practice.
The programme consists of two phases. The first is an intensive on-site course from 13 to 17 April 2026, during which participants will engage in hands-on workshops, group work, and cultural activities. The second is an online follow-up session on 21 April 2026, dedicated to reflecting on the experience, sharing insights, and evaluating the applicability of new methodologies. This structure ensures not only knowledge acquisition but also its practical application and long-term impact on teaching practice.
International Collaboration
The programme is delivered in collaboration with eight universities across Europe: University Sorbonne – Paris Nord (France); Würzburg-Schweinfurt Technical University of Applied Sciences (Germany); University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli (Caserta, Italy); Tampere University of Applied Sciences (Finland); University of Málaga (Spain); University of Tirana (Albania); The Hague University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands); Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution (Kaunas, Lithuania). This international network offers participants an invaluable opportunity to exchange experiences, explore advanced pedagogical practices, and develop new teaching methodologies applicable across diverse educational contexts.
Participants can apply for travel funding through the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training (STT) programme. This enables educators from various countries to take part in the programme, while financial support helps reduce participation costs and facilitates international mobility.
The Blended Intensive Programme for Language Educators offers more than traditional professional development. Participation provides opportunities to:
- Update professional knowledge and gain practical tools for more effective teaching
- Develop international contacts and collaborative networks
- Learn about the latest pedagogical trends and apply them in daily practice
- Enhance student motivation, engagement, and critical thinking through innovative teaching methods
Participation in BIP not only strengthens pedagogical competence but also fosters creativity, an international perspective, and long-term professional growth. The programme is designed for educators who are committed not only to teaching but also to continuous professional development, innovation, and active participation in the international community of language educators.
Participation can be confirmed online by 20 February 2026. For more information, please contact Kristina Juodeikienė at kristina.juodeikiene@kaunokolegija.lt.
