UNINOVIS – Data for L.I.F.E. (UNINOVIS) is a European university alliance that brings together eight leading higher education institutions in Europe, including Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution. The alliance is united by a shared vision and a commitment to strengthening education, research, and innovation in the field of applied data science, while maintaining a strong dedication to serving societal needs.

UNINOVIS aims to become a driving force for meaningful change in European higher education by integrating artificial intelligence, robotics, and data-driven learning. These activities focus on empowering students and society by developing the skills required to thrive and create value in the digital age.

UNINOVIS – a European university alliance – launched its activities in 2025 and brings together more than 150,000 students and 12,000 staff members from all partner institutions. The alliance’s main objective is to strengthen cooperation in the fields of education, research, arts, applied activities, and innovation development across Europe.

UNINOVIS places particular emphasis on the development of mobility by promoting both physical and virtual mobility of students and staff among partner institutions. This experience not only enhances international cooperation but also fosters competencies that are essential for success in the digital and technological age.

Upon completion of the initial four-year funding period, the alliance will seek additional funding to support further development and ensure the sustainability of its activities. The current phase represents only the beginning of a new stage in European higher education, in which learning, applied research (including the arts), and scientific research are increasingly closely linked to technological solutions and societal needs.

UNINOVIS activities are organised through five thematic working groups, each responsible for specific work packages. Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution is represented in all groups – from lifelong learning to innovation, research, and communication – and actively contributes to the implementation of planned tasks.

In addition, the alliance provides students and staff of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, as well as other stakeholder organisations, with opportunities to share knowledge, collaborate, and develop innovations across various sectors at both national and international levels. In this way, UNINOVIS not only strengthens the academic community but also contributes to empowering society and developing new solutions in Europe.

UNINOVIS aims to become a European higher education alliance in which learning, applied research (including the arts), and innovation are closely intertwined with technological advancement and societal needs. The alliance seeks to create an intellectual ecosystem that encourages students, researchers, and staff to continuously expand their knowledge, share expertise, and generate solutions that contribute to the sustainable, innovative, and inclusive development of Europe.

The vision of UNINOVIS is based on three core principles:

  1. Academic leadership and integration of innovation – fostering a new generation of professionals capable of applying artificial intelligence, robotics, and data science to solving real-world challenges.
  2. International cooperation and mobility – promoting the mobility of students, lecturers, and researchers to ensure knowledge exchange and the development of innovation across Europe.
  3. Societal empowerment and impact – developing practical, society-oriented solutions that strengthen social responsibility, inclusion, and technological advancement.

Through these principles, UNINOVIS seeks to become a driving force shaping the future of European higher education, delivering outcomes that benefit both the academic community and society at large.
