Call for students: create social business models in an international team

Students of the Faculty of Business at Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution are invited to participate in the international Nordplus BIP programme Baltic-Nordic Network for Creating New Earning Logics in Rural Areas, which will take place on 20–23 April 2026 at Kauno kolegija. The main theme of the programme, Developing Social Entrepreneurship in Rural Areas (SEinRA), is designed to bring together ideas of social entrepreneurship, practical work, and active collaboration with international students. Students who successfully complete the programme activities will be awarded 3 ECTS credits.

SEinRA is an international intensive course dedicated to the development of social entrepreneurship in rural areas. During the programme, students will work in intercultural teams and create real-life social enterprise models based on the Triple Bottom Line principle, which encompasses three essential dimensions: people, society, and the economy. This approach encourages future business professionals to assess business success not only in terms of financial return, but also through the positive impact created for communities and the environment.

The relevance of the programme is linked to the growing need to seek sustainable and economically grounded solutions for rural areas. Therefore, participants from Lithuania, Finland, and Latvia will explore issues related to business planning, social impact assessment, and leadership. In the practical part of the programme, students will not only attend lectures, but also engage in project-based work, during which they will have the opportunity to test their ideas while seeking solutions to real social problems. This is an opportunity to view social entrepreneurship as a real and applicable model for action in today’s market.

Participation in this international programme enables students to strengthen their intercultural collaboration skills and expand their professional network. The intensive learning process ensures close engagement with social business practice, providing a competitive advantage for future professional careers.

Registration is open until 19 April (inclusive).
