Faculty of Medicine hosted an international BIP on health promotion and education
On May 11–15, the Faculty of Medicine hosted an intensive international Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) titled ‘Health Promotion and Education’. Organised by the Departments of Rehabilitation and Oral Health, the programme successfully combined digital health innovations, physical activity, and traditional wellness practices. Guests from Estonia, Poland, and Latvia, alongside students from Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, actively participated and collaborated in joint activities.
Over five intensive days, participants not only deepened their theoretical knowledge but also implemented practical projects aimed at strengthening public health.
Highlights of the Intensive Week:
- Innovation and theoretical foundations: the programme kicked off with an introduction to digital health trends, personal self-assessment tools, and alternative art therapy methods.
- Movement and physical well-being: a strong emphasis was placed on an active lifestyle. Participants experienced outdoor workouts, a physically demanding PoleSport session, and explored sensory integration during a movement workshop.
- Creative work: working in teams, students learned to create digital content-planning, filming, and editing video clips designed to promote and spread health-related ideas.
- Practical experience and cultural exchange: moving the programme to Druskininkai, participants discovered the activities of the Druskininkai Municipality Public Health Bureau, visited ‘SPA Vilnius’, and took part in water and sauna educational sessions. International guests and students also enjoyed a guided tour of Kaunas old town and a cultural evening featuring the folklore group ‘Uosinta’.
The week finished with team project presentations (video clips), a review of the achieved results, and the official awarding of certificates.
